The text above is called a descriptive text

    • Use of adjective to describe person, place or thing.

Learn the example of descriptive text below;

(text 1)

My Timmy

Identification

I have some pets.  However, my favorite pet is Timmy.

Description

Timmy is a male tabby cat.  He is very adorable with his soft stripes fur.  He has innocent round eyes and feeble sweet voice.  He always meows when he feels hungry.  Actually, his voice is not suitable with his giant body.  When I come home, he usually gives me a kiss.

Timmy is a nice playmate. I’m happy to spend my time with him. Most of the time, he’s a good boy. It’s almost impossible for me to be angry at him. In the morning, he always wakes up early. When he wakes up earlier, he waits quietly by my bedside until I wake up.

(text 2)

My New Neighbor

Identification

I have a new neighbor. Her name is Chloe Sullivan.

Description

Chloe is about fifteen years old. She has long straight hair and brown eyes. She’s the only one daughter in her family. Now, she is in the eighth grade of junior high school, she joins the Girl Scout. Besides, she also takes some courses.

Chloe is a friendly girl. Moreover, she has a very sweet smile. That’s why she has many friends.

Chloe is also smart and has broad knowledge. I often talk to her and ask her everything. She said that she broadens her knowledge through reading and browsing the internet.

Now, let’s learn about adjective.

Jane is a beautiful girl. She is also clever and dilligent.

The bold-typed word is an adjective. An adjective describes people or things. Words for people and things are nouns, so adjectives describe nouns.

Adjectives often come before nouns they described.

a red mango      a polite boy                a kind girl

a sharp knife      a noisy classroom      a coldday

Adjectives often come after the nouns they describe, later in the sentences.
The bus is crowded.                     Why are you angry?

Those children are polite.             Sonya’s handwriting is neat.

Borobudur Temple

Borobudur is a great Buddhist temple.

The temple is located in Magelang on the island of Java in Indonesia. It is constructed on a hill 46 (150ft) high and consists of eight step like stone terraces, one on top of the other. The first five terraces are square and surrounded by walls adorned with Buddhist sculpture in bas-relief; the upper three are circular, each with a circle of bell-shaped stupas (Buddhist shrines). The entire edifice is crowned by a large stupa at the center of the top circle. The way to the summit extends through some 4.8 km (some 3 mile) of passages and starways. The design of Borubudur, a temple mountain symbolizing the structure of the universe, influenced temples built at Angkor, Cambodia. Borobudur, was rededicated as an Indonesian national monument in 1983 following extensive reclamation, aided by the United Nations.
